    Week one

    1. Topic: Practice daily
    2. Schedule: Practice M-F
      1. Solo practice – Shoot 5 Solo videos a week
      2. Partner practice – I have class this wednesday evening I will be teaching
      3. Take Online Live class this week
    3. Plan:
      1. Monday – already past
      2. T – Make up spear Live class
      3. W – Prep for Partner Videos ie watch, and practice, and get ready for when I do have a partner
      4. R – Shoot Solo Videos
      5. F – Online Live Class
    4. Contingency: Read Leoni’s Manciolino book

      Day 2

      — The spear class recording wasn’t up on Duello.tv and the weather had a break in it so I shot some solo videos today. 🙂

    Week 4 of October

    Topic – Start some videos with the goal of submitting assessments

    Schedule

    – Monday thru Friday

    – Monday teach my longsword class

    – Attend the live session this week on Friday

    — I want to take the early part of this week a little light. My weekend was more rigorous than I originally intended and need a small break for recovery.

    — I think I will do the short training suggestions followed by working on an assessment video everyday. And submit if I feel it’s worthy.

      Day 3 Wednesday

      –Taught a class on thrust mechanics tonight

      Tuesday Day 2

      — Did a 20 minute NTC full body workout

      — Shot 4 separate videos for blue cord and submitted them. I’ll wait until these are reviewed before submitting more.

      Monday Day 1

      — Ended up taking a light day on practice

      — Only did a little sparring in class about 6-7 matches

      — A take away from it was that I wonder if a get hit with quick zerch style cuts more often when I press in and my opponent presses in as well. It makes going from one side of my body through a volta stabile to the other side a long way and typically miss that parry.

    Day 5

    Proud of myself for the consistency this week. I made a priority to practice everyday and it was great!

    — Today I took the Duello online Spear class and learned the four basic parries

    Notes:

    — Outside parry needs to be palm down to close the elbow from being exposed

    — The longer you opponent is in contact with your weapon the more time they have to parry. And with polearms There is often a long distance to the opponent, thus requires more time to strike.

    — Remain Backweighted, Think rapier

    Over the weekend if I’m feeling froggy I’ll read some treatise.

    And next week I want to start shooting video for the blue cord assessments.

    Day 4,

    — Did 20 minute HITT workout

    — Followed the five thrusts with spear video from Duello live classes last week in prep for tomorrows new spear class.

    Day 3

    – Practiced the larga defense form at multiple speeds. Worked on the accuracy of the movements at slow speed. Then tried it at a smooth speed. And finished with 90% % speed to just make the motions. Needs refinement for sure.

    — 4-5 reps of the stretta defense form. Easy to pick up since it follows the same patterns as the larga.

    (note for DEVON:) I think there is typo in the wording on the stretto defense form.

    5. PdD, deflect by mandritto sottano to right finestra with offline pass right. Counter attack with thrust in extended right finestra with compass step.

    6. PdDs, deflect by roverso sottano to left finestra with offline pass left. Counter attack with thrust in extended left finestra with compass step.

    I think the (5) should be left finestra and (6) right finestra???

    Monday – Short Practice, worked on the Gioco Largo defense form for quite a while to learn it. Made it through multiple times, so well see how well that goes tomorrow. The grappling is tough to practice solo, as well as volta stabile at the debole. Prep for class instruction tonight on footwork and measure. Maybe I could do these partner drills at class.

    Tuesday

    –Turns out my post yesterday didn’t actually post….

    — Did the short practice today and about half the medium practice

    — Wednesday I plan to do the largo defense form and work on learning the stretta defense form
