    Hey Bob!

Ben here. This form is approved! You formed your positions well, and you had good movement throughout. One piece of feedback I would offer is, if possible, try to take a deeper stance in each of the poste. Your feet are very in line with each other which makes your stance very linear. Of course there are times where the feet can be in line and it is useful, (striking with Posta Longa), you don’t want them to be linear all of the time.

Something I like to use to help people get a wider stance, is to think about a large bowling ball constantly rolling between your feet, and you have to make just enough room for the ball to pass between without hitting your ankles. Something you can try at home for your own practice, is to put some masking or painters tape on the floor in two parallel lines where your feet should be, and then practice your guard transitions with triangle steps endeavoring to keep your feet on the lines.

Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions, and keep up the good work!

    Cheers!

    Hey Thomas!

This form is approved! I really enjoyed the crispness of your actions. You made each measure very clear!

The only feedback I have for you is to try and take a deeper and wider stance when preparing to cut at each measure. This will help your cross line steps feel less like they are tangling your feet up, and will give you much more maneuverability with your feet in general.

Otherwise, nice work! I especially like your training partner. What’s his name? :p

    Cheers!

    Hey Bob!

Ben here! Your revised form: https://youtu.be/RuOXK29AjXU is approved! Great job!

Some feedback going forward would be to try and get lower to the ground with a wider stance if possible. If your range of movement restricts that, then don’t worry too much about it.

Great work! Can’t wait to see the others!

    Cheers!

    Hey Thomas!

Ben here. This form is approved! I really enjoyed the smoothness of your thrusts and the transitions between them. Well done!

    My feedback for you is:
    – Try taking a deeper and wider stance. Work those quads! I know it can be difficult in a small space, but try to sink deeper in to your squat whenever possible. It will help with your agility and conditioning.
    – Use the balls of your feet more fully in your volta stabile. Your feet only turn a few degrees when executing this turn. Really focus your turn around the balls of your feet, and turn your feet a full 90 degrees when you volta stabile, and it will help you feel more grounded and stable.

    Otherwise, looks great! Awesome job!

    Cheers!

    Hey Stela!

Ben here. This form (https://youtu.be/io6_Ukd48TE) is approved! I really enjoyed your transitions between guards as they seemed well planned and thought out.

My only piece of feedback is similar to your five thrusts video, where you want to turn more on the balls of your feet when you execute your volta stabile. Sometimes you just turn your body and not your feet, and you pick up the lead foot. Try being more grounded, and using the balls of both feet to turn.

Other than that, it looks great! Awesome job!

    Cheers!

    Hey Stela!

This form is approved, but I think you may have to re-submit it as I can’t seem to find it on the back-end to approve it. Let me know once it is submitted, or if you need help on that!

    Cheers!

    Hey Stela!

Ben here. Your form is approved! I really liked the attention and care you put into all of the thrusts and the transitions between them. It looked really smooth and solid!

The only piece of feedback I have for you is:

    – Your volta stabile are being cut short on their turn. Especially the back foot. When you turn your back foot, it only turns from its starting position only about 40 degrees (ish) when the foot should turn a full 90 degrees (ish). This will turn your back foot out more, and align it with the structure of the knee to support your weight better. Also, your front foot looks like it is coming off of the ground, almost like you are putting all of your weight on the back leg. Try to keep it planted on the ground when you turn. Your rear weighted stance should just be an exact reflection of the forward weighted stance in terms of weight distribution.

Other than that, your thrusts look awesome! Can’t wait to see how you improve!

    Cheers!

    Hey Daniel!

Ben here. This form is approved! I really enjoyed the way you transitioned smoothly from cut to cut, it was very nice to watch! Some feedback for you on this form would be two things.

    1. Watch that you don’t move your sword out of order. There were a few instances where you moved your body and sword forward at the same time. Really make sure that the weapon is leading each action and that your step follows behind the sword. It’s very easy to move simultaneously and have it not feel like you are doing anything wrong, so just be aware of it.

    2. Watch that you don’t make wide downward cuts. Sometimes when you throw your fendenti, they rise up from the shoulder and come down from over the head. Instead, try to pull your sword down from the shoulder and initiate the cut by pushing forward from your sternum. This goes as well for fendenti that start low. Make sure that they come through the center-line as opposed to the side.

    Can’t wait to see more!

    Cheers!

    Hey Daniel!

Ben here! Your form is approved! Great job! I like the smoothness of your transitions. Some feedback that I will offer you, is to try to keep yourself more grounded. This means to try and adopt a wider, deeper stance in all of your poste. Think about having room for a bowling ball to roll between your feet at all times and having your legs bent so that your center of gravity is lower. Imagine if your poste had to resist someone pushing against it, and observing if you would be able to hold your position against that force.

Can’t wait to see what you keep doing! Let me know if you have any questions.

    Cheers!
