Hi All,

I had my space semi set up already as I already use it as an AV room and in home work out space. Also, because of the pandemic, I am also doing on line classes with our karate dojo so I have been adjusting it for some time to accommodate those activities. That leaves me in the enviable position of not having to negotiate how the space will be used.

The space has a very high ceiling so that is not a concern. Hitting the floor with the sword tip does freak me out so I have that on my mind all the time!

This class, and the discussion about lowering barriers, has prompted me to start mounting my equipment on one of the walls so I don’t have to “find’ it or un bag it. I just have to grab it as it as at hand, (That’s not finished yet as it has inspired me to do the same with my karate and kobudo stuff.:)

For this Masterclass I have a side sword, buckler and longsword to work with as well as a step ladder and stick set up similar to Devon’s . As a target behind the stick I have a blow up dinosaur for now but am concerned about the “pointy end” of my tools so am working on something else.

I am also trying to figure out how to, perhaps, suspend some suggested targets from the ceiling that I could raise and lower so they don’t interfere with mu other activities in the space.

Tech wise I am set up so I can cast to a big screen TV so can also use Devon as a viable target. 🙂
