    Posta Frontale interpretation:

Against the high thrust, I move into Posta Frontale while passing offline, finishing with a thrust after achieving the three advantages.

Against the low thrust, I break while passing offline, finishing with a thrust.

Against the last thrust, I break with fendente while passing back and then make two thrusts with advancing steps, finishing with a fendente that returns me to dente di cinghiaro. I feel like this was the most suspect interpretation. The first fendente was supposed to be to the head, but as I was also passing back the head just was not in reach so I went for the break instead.

    Gioco Stretto Defence Form: Self-Assessment

Strengths: happy with the way I adapted to the space.

Challenges: my dente di Cinghiara position after right Finestra extended thrust is terrible – front foot perpendicular to where it should be!

Gioco Largo Defense Form – Self Assessment

Strengths: I think it looks like I’m playing the wide game, and my movements are becoming surer.

Challenges: the finestra to sottano section is extremely exaggerated. Need to tighten my movements. I think earlier sottanos with gather back are also perhaps too exaggerated.

    Five Measures Form:

I ended up changing the target from sword to head from misura stretta on – not sure if this was the right choice.

I need to learn this form better. My crossline pass looks very horizontal.

It was fun to work with a partner and cut through a target.

    Five Thrusts Form:

This became quite a fun balancing exercise. It felt good to work on balance and really get to stretch out into the movements.

Aside from obvious footwork awkwardness, I think I need to work on my entrance and exit from Porta di ferro.

Five Thrust Progression – Peer Review:

    Hi Stela,

Looks great! You’re really methodical and controlled. Your thrusts are extended and seem even and consistent. From the front view it looks like you’re sometimes a little back-weighted when retreating, maybe most noticeably at 0:48. Liked that you provided those two perspectives!

    Twelve Poste Progression: Self Assessment

I think I have the directions right… but if I don’t probably best to find out sooner rather than later. The volta stabile facing change looks like the best part to me.

    Things to work on:

    1. crispness of first round, smoothness of second round transitions

    2. consistency: posta frontale held at different heights, coda longa bit out of control in second round etc.
