Day 2: Followed a lark and attended Greg’s Fundamental Rapier class. While hesitant to engage in another weapon form, this was an excellent decision. Greg is really laying excellent foundational movement principles down and creating a great framework for the study of rapier combat. Plus, even though I’ve been consistent with my training in Longsword and Sidesword, I used muscle groups today that have not been engaged in the same way. I’mma be sore tomorrow.

Day 1: In lieu of a medium practice, I did the Duello Sidesword class with Eric and the core forms. No regrets!

Week 4: Still on a low impact regimen due to back pain. Doing pretty minimal physical work but still trying to make progress on the long term plan. Like the previous weeks, that I never posted, I’m doing 5 minute plans that focus on range of motion activities, but with sword in hand.

Committing to posting the MasterClass videos I’ve already recorded.

Oh, nice! I learned something slightly different in the Duello classes and, conveniently, it melds into the 12 poste progression. Changing the grip can be a bit tricky, especially to learn it will little to no visibility. Luckily, it’s easy to isolate and practice, even at a standstill while doing/learning/waiting for something else. I practice it almost as like it’s a nervous fidget.
I think I’m going to commit to adding this to my poste progression practice.

Day 4:
Relied on the Academie Duello class for my workout today. Didn’t stick to my plan, but progress was achieved.
-
Day 3:
Happily engaged the Medium Practice plan along with the Duello Longsword class. A little extra than I planned, some extra credit to bank for later.
-
Day 2:
Had to rely on the Contingency plan today, but I did it! Used the pre-formatted Short Practice due to time constraints (hmmm, stringere tempo?). -
Day 1: Mission Accomplished
Fendente (mandritto & roverso) to the centreline – 3 sets of 10 reps
Downward X – 3 sets of 10 reps

Five Measures Form starting in posta di donna – 3 reps
Upward X – 3 sets of 10 reps

Week 4: Endeavoring to be a better planner, instead of filling in gaps with what I know I need to work on. Plus, swords!
-
Day 6: Duello Longsword class with Adrian, followed closely by Duello Sidesword class with Vitor. I was pleased to be able to refer to my notes from the MasterClass to answer questions Adrian posed to the group.
