Self-assessment when performing this skill
Create a self-assessment video to compare to the master above. Perform the following actions in the video, repeated twice:
- Your partner begins in posta longa. You begin in posta longa, having found the mezza of you partner’s sword on the inside line. Your partner makes a parry and steps back to find your sword on the inside line. Avoid their parry with a cavatione sopra, counter-cutting with a roverso fendente as they pass forward to attack with a thrust.
- You begin in posta longa, having found the mezza of you partner’s sword on the outside line. Your partner makes a parry and steps back to find your sword on the outside line. Avoid their parry with a cavatione sopra, counter-cutting with a mandritto fendente as they pass forward to attack with a thrust.
You began having found your partner’s mezza spada with your mezza spada
You began your cavatione sopra before your partner completed their parry
You stepped offline away from your partner’s line of attack
You struck your partner with arms extended, contacting them with the debole of your sword
Your fendente strikes in a way that covers your opponent’s weapon
