Gaining with Various Cuts – Practice

Immediate Practice

10 minutes – Practice cutting through posta longa with all of the cuts. 10 reps per cut.

  • Start with mandritto fendente and progress to mandritto mezzano and sottano. Then do the same on the roverso side.
  • With the mezzano, remember to begin the cut like a fendente, then flatten it onto a horizontal plane.
  • With the sottano be sure to strike for the head as a target in order to place your forte against the opponent’s debole.
  • With all cuts, though you start with leverage, you must bring your point across the target in order to acquire crossing and maintain control of the opponent’s weapon.
