Movement Errors – Practice
10 minutes – Practice the two forward, one back movement drill. Focusing on avoiding errors.
- Start at one side of your space. Take two advancing steps followed by one retreating step. Once you reach the end of your space change to two retreating steps followed by one advance.
- Practice in both the defensive and offensive postures.
- Focus first on smoothness of movement (no bouncing), then keeping your weight back (avoiding the pigeon walk), and finally maintaining the distance between your feet.
- Use a partner, mirror, or camera to help you spot errors and gain more awareness of your movement and posture.
