Parry at the Mezza Spada – Assessment

Self-assessment when performing this skill

Create a self-assessment video to compare to the master above. Perform the following actions in the video, repeated twice:

1. You begin in posta longa. Your partner begins in posta longa, having found the mezza of your sword on the inside line. As your partner begins to attack with a thrust, you step back to parry, finding their sword on the inside line. Proceed to complete the exchange of thrust.
2. You begin in posta longa. Your partner begins in posta longa, having found the mezza of your sword on the outside line. As your partner begins to attack with a thrust, you step back to parry, finding their sword on the outside line. Proceed to complete the exchange of thrust.
3. You begin in porta di ferro. Your partner begins in porta di ferro and attacks with a covered thrust. You step back to parry, finding their sword on the inside line. Proceed to complete the exchange of thrust.
4. You begin in dente al cinghiara. Your partner begins in dente al cinghiara and attacks with a covered thrust. You step back to parry, finding their sword on the outside line. Proceed to complete the exchange of thrust.
