Striking in Primo Tempo – Practice
Immediate Practice
5 minutes – Practice striking in primo tempo with a mandritto fendente only. At least 10 reps.
- Focus on beginning your blow by sending the sword forward first. Do not rush and send your body forward ahead of your weapon.
- After you are reliably striking in tempo, have your partner also provide resistance to test your acquisition of the advantages.
5 minutes – Practice striking in primo tempo with the other cuts. 10-20 reps.
- Choose a single cut or alternate between the various cuts.
- Focusing on one cut will allow you to refine it’s mechanics.
- Focusing on changing cuts each time will help you with retaining mechanical changes and challenge you to stay composed.
