Day 4 – Big Practice and Group practice consisted of learning messer plays & sparring with messer and longsword
Day 5 – Short practice and recorded some videos for review
Day 6 – Attended Sword to Sword’s Schutzenfest – an all day event that consisted of a wide range of martial events which were practiced in medieval Germany.

1. Your opponent is waiting in posta di donna
2. From porta di ferro mezza, you enter measure with a passing step and make a guard transition to posta di donna.
3. Your opponent strikes mandritto fendente to the left side of your head while passing forward.
4. You parry with a half cut mandritto fendente into posta breve with offline retreating step.
5. Your opponent makes a cavatione under your sword thrusting on the other side while making a passing step
6. You make a volta stabile of the sword while making a pivot step to the left, and begin to extend your sword to exchange the thrust passing forward.
7. Your opponent makes a tutta volta of the sword while passing offline and then strikes mandritto fendente with pivot step to the left side of your head.
8. You make a volta stable of the body into rear weight posta fenestra on the left and thrust with a two passing steps. Exit with two steps back making a volta stable of the sword into posta longa.

March – Week 2 Training Log
Topic: A little German, a little Italian, and a little
of my own.Schedule: Monday – Friday 2 to 3 hours
Solo and Partner Practice.
Plan:
Monday – Watch German for Italians Workshop and Practice
Tuesday – Short Practice
Wednesday – Big Practice
Thursday – Short Practice and Group Training
Friday – Medium Practice
Contingency: Short Practice and review German guards and
strikes.-
Victory Laps. Trained 5 days out of the week.
Course Corrections. Still trying to find a partner to train with. Working on different options.
Aha Moments. Need partner time to train some of the issues I have while sparring.

- Five Measures Form with thrusts starting in posta breve – 10 reps
- Cutting through longa with mandritto & roverso sottani – 10 reps each
- Thrusting through posta longa from porta di ferro – 20 reps
- Thrusting through posta longa from dente di cinghiara – 20 reps
- Practice thrusting through longa from the finestra guards – 10 reps
- Practice the Unarmed Poste Progression with a focus on striking and throwing – 10 reps
- Didn’t do Longsword Fundimentals II Course.
