    Self Assessment:

Spent a lot of time really thinking about this interpretation. Did the best I could with my sword dummy. I think my footwork could have been better and I could have been a little lower in my stance. Swordplay felt like each technique would have been effect against a real opponent.

The first frontale my elbow are out a little. The last thrust seemed a little rushed, and could have been better.

    Posta Frontale Interpretation

    https://youtu.be/f93b5twtd94

    Starting in Porta di ferro

This is the Posta Frontale, which some masters call the Guard of the Crown. This is good for crossing the opponent’s sword, as well as against thrusts.

    1. The first technique is the frontale crossing against the opponent’s cut, which is followed with a thrust.

Against the high thrust, cross the opponent’s blade while passing offline.

    2. The second technique is the frontale crossing against the opponent’s high thrust while stepping offline to the left, then finishing with an arched fendente cut which drives the opponent’s blade away.

Against a low thrust, also pass offline, beating the thrust to the ground.

    3. The third technique is done by stepping offline to the right and striking the opponent sword diagonally downward after pass through frontale while the hands are about chest high. Followed by a fendente to the head or hands.

You can also operate this way: against a thrust, pass back while delivering a fendente to the head and arms down to Dente di Cinghiaro, then immediately deliver one or two thrusts with an accrescimento of the front foot. Finish with a fendente that gets you
    back in that guard.

    4. The fourth technique is done by stepping back while delivering a strike to the side of the head. The sword passes through frontale with the sword about chest high while the strike is made, then the sword crosses over the opponent’s sword travelling downward into Dente. I finished with an offline step to the right while thrusting while maintaining cover.

Victory Laps. Where were your successes in efforts or achievement?<b style=”font-size: inherit;”> Mostly, except for summiting videos. I recorded a lot which was a success, but didn’t submit them because it was hard to see some of the action due to the background.

Course Corrections. Change the angle for shooting videos in the garage.

Aha Moments. What inspired you? Working through interpretations helped solidify certain techniques, even those that I thought were more “German.”

Victory Laps. Where were your successes in efforts or achievement?

Yes, training on Monday and Tuesday shifted to reading various parts of the Getty Manuscript instead due to a loss of electricity.

Course Corrections. What might you do differently next week to implement learning from any shortfalls this week? Have a rough plan in place (Contingency Plan) that can be updated with the Master Club weekly training material, if need, prior to the beginning of the week.

Aha Moments. What inspired you? Seeing everyone continuing forward with their training.

Where was the joy? In movement and improvement.

How might you dig further into that next week? Wrap up week five, see about insert prescribed plan into goals for the week, and set a goal for finishing a certain number of videos.

Thank you, I went back to Gmail and found the emails in my spam folder. For some reason they didn’t come up when I did a search. 🙃

Looks like contra tempo, if your strike is during your tripods mandritto fendente.
