Five Thrust Form
-
- What stood out to you? That I’m paying more attention to my mechanics in everything I do.
- Did you have any big “aha moments” in your training? In intention thrusting and cutting how much structure and staying grounded is important.
- What was most challenging? Not over doing it. Staying relax in the cuts while striking a target and not tensing up shoulders and raising them.
- Did you meet your own objectives? Yes
- What do you think you might do differently next week? No changes for next week.

- Endurance and cardio – Alternate between the row machine and ski trainer

I like the Daniel Kline’s Text to Speak instruction in his video. Never used that function before in Microsoft Edge (if that’s what he’s using), but great idea. 😀
Thanks Daniel!
I worked slowly through Longsword Fundamentals II material today.

Nice work Jade! I noticed that you seemed to have little trouble with the first, full cut reverso sottano, and just before the second full cut reverso sottano (left side cuts) you crossed your hands after coming down from the mandritto fendente.
-
Thank you, both! That’s basically how I been working the strikes. I just wanted to check to see I was using them in the correct context, or if I was off base. I also started to envisioned other situations where my opponent tries to strike me during the first cut, or directly after the first cut.

Self Assessment:
I think in Longa, I need to send the strike sooner. Movement seems to be good, and I remembered to start breathing part way through. I seem to be a little forward in my upper body.
