December’s coaching call is ready for review. Enjoy, happy holidays and the best of the new year to everyone!

First half summary:
– back on the food diary for a while. It worked so well for me before. I want to know exactly what I eat each day and how much. “MyNetDiary” is my app of choice here.
– as much as I diss Apple’s “exercise ring”, I do plan on closing this at least 5 times per week. That’s going well.
– I have a kettlebell workout video series. It has good exercises. It has lousy music. So I brought the videos into a video editor and used some filters to cancel out the music and leave the voice instruction. Now I can play my favourite uptempo prog or 80s with them. So much better!
The first week of December was mostly adjustment coming back from a crazy trip away from home. Around the 6th I started to have enough bandwidth to bring food and activity into sharper focus. Sleep is going well enough. Stress management is also going okay–a little more shaky than the others, but the last few days have seen a mini-breakthrough there. Optimistic.
Thinking about getting back into online teaching for January. How about the complete first assualt of Manciolino’s sidesword and buckler? Hey, it’s only been 6 years since I performed it. Like riding a bike…

Lots more scurrying about the city today on foot. Plus some skip rope when I got home.
Yesterday I saw a good buddy and had some cheat food. Today was much more sensible eating.
-
A lot of huffing around errands all over the city all day. That will do.
-
40 minutes up and down the hills of the neighbourhood today, plus a little jump rope.
Watched Interstellar again. I like space movies. I like family movies. McConaughey? Meh.
-
40 min and 4k around the neighbourhood. Always raining.
Honestly, I ate a huge late lunch and did not feel like jumping rope with a brick in my gut.

Nov 6
Jump rope and (tiny) kettlebell. 20 min
Massage calves and a bit of hip flexor. 10 min
Got a bit of Dream Theatre and Steven Wilson thrown into the mix today. Nice.
-
4k and 44 flights climbed on combined walk/run timer. Discovered an amazing trail. Going back there for sure.
-
Nov 4
7.2km stroll around the hood.
-
Nov 3
20 minutes skipping rope and light kettlebell. That’s what I’ve packed in my travel kit, so you’ll see a lot of that this month. Apple Music has a channel called Spock’s Beard and Similar. That’s usually what’s playing.
10 minutes massage gadget on the hamstrings. Done!
-
Nov 2
45 minutes brisk walk to check out the neighbourhood I’m temporarily staying in. Plenty of hills.
-
Nov 1
20 minutes combination of skipping rope and light kettlebell range of motion exercises.
10 minutes massaging my (notoriously tight) calves with my new massage gizmo from Costco (it was next to the checkout chocolate bars, I couldn’t resist)
